Abridged ? Results

Results so far of the check of these editions, giving details of who reported the result.
By 'Abridged' I mean where fairly large sections of the text are missing, not just changes to words and names etc.
Where I have checked the editions, I have compared the first three chapters of the Armada text with that of the First Edition. The cuts appear to have been made in order to shorten the text for paperback production, and vary in degree; some are quite dramatic cuts even in the first chapters.
I shall add this information to the relevant pages of the site.

Following Brian's information about the Collins Pony Library edition of Black Hunting Whip, I checked my copies of Cargo of Horses and No Entry. All these are exact copies of the Armada editions, and are therefore abridged. The Pony Library edition of Wish for a Pony is not abridged, but has the Capitalisation of stressed talk of the original text replaced by the more standard use of italics.

The Collins Laurel and Gold edition of Wish for a Pony is not abridged, but that of The Summer of the Great Secret is.

The Scottie paperback edition of Black Hunting Whip has nothing cut from the first two chapters so I assume is not abridged.

The Chivers New Portway editions of Strangers to the Marsh and Operation Seabird are not abridged.
