Meeting Time/Place: 10.30am – 11.00am by The Three Horseshoes Public House, Thursley, Surrey. (Further advice will follow regarding parking).

Come and join us for what promises to be an enjoyable day, spent in the Thursley/Devil’s Punchbowl area, exploring the locations featured in Monica Edwards’ Punchbowl Farm series and meeting other M*E*A*S members and ME enthusiasts (so you know you’ll be in good company!)

Our (rough) itinerary so far is:

Meet up at 10.30am – 11.00am by the Three Horseshoes pub, Thursley. A guided walk, led by Brian Parks, who has in-depth personal knowledge of the area and has identified many of the places featured in the books. Brian has also prepared maps and notes showing the links between locations and text. We were guinea pigs on Brian’s walk and we can both say that it is a worthwhile experience! However, we would like to point out that the going can be steep in places, thus requiring decent footwear etc. There will be an alternative, easier route on offer too and of course the village is worth exploring. The farmhouse itself is a private residence and we have to view it at a respectful distance.

Following the walk we will gather for a quiz and informal discussion. This could either be at the Three Horseshoes (which serves food and obviously drink) or at the Village Hall. However, we think it would be a good idea if everyone brought packed lunches/provisions and perhaps we could have a picnic on the walk or in Thursley. Please note there is no shop in Thursley so come prepared!

If you require any further information please contact us via our email – we would love to hear from you if you are intending to join us, as that would give us a good idea of how many to expect.

See you in September!
